A Wild Orchid
Last Spring, a friend of mine packed his bags, left his home, and travelled around Tasmania in search of wild orchids.
He’d search for hours and excitedly ring to let me know when he had found the little treasures.
I had never looked for wild orchids myself. If I be honest, I guess I wasn't all that interested.
One afternoon, my youngest daughter went out into our garden and found a single flower amongst mostly bush scrub.
She joyfully came inside, grabbed my hand, led me out and encouraged me to sit and see the flower's beauty.
It was difficult for me to stop cleaning the house, and sit with her - my ‘To Do’ list was quite long…
A wild orchid looked back at me - a few steps out our front door.
It got me to think how many of God’s blessings I miss by not noticing what’s right infront of me.
Some people travel far in search of a blessing, some are simply not interested or too busy to care.
Blessings are found in plain sight, if only we choose to seek, sit & see.
